Let's be honest, cold sores are embarrassing and painful!
I've been getting cold sores my entire life. And as much as we all know it's not our fault we get them, they are embarrassing. But even worse, they hurt!
A few years back I created our Cold Sore Balm. This was a game changer for me. The ingredients not only soothe the pain, they help speed the healing process.
About a year ago I started working on a formula for our new Cold Sore Serum. I love the balm but I wanted something that would be a bit more powerful and would be geared towards reducing the blisters. After a few attempts and adjustments I was finally satisfied! The hardest part about formulating it was I had to wait for the next cold sore to test it. With the stress I've had this year (my SIL and MIL both passed away) I have had more cold sores than usual.
What does the serum do? Speeds the healing process and numbs the pain!
The last cold sore I had, I got a blister on my upper lip and right under my nose. Most of the time you can feel when a cold sore is coming. There's that slight tingle. So you can sometimes catch it before you get the breakout. If you do, start applying the serum immediately. This may prevent it completely. This time I didn't catch it in time. I woke up with it. And there were 2 full blown blisters. I immediately started applying the serum and balm.
I will warn, the serum does sting a bit when you first put it on. But then the numbing comes! The serum is formulated to dry out the blister. You definitely want to put the balm on after the serum absorbs into the skin. I suggest applying the serum 3-4 times a day the first 1-2 days. You can apply the balm as often as you need to.
That last cold sore I had, gone in 3 days! There was still some redness for a few days but the blisters were gone! For people who don't get cold sores that might not seem like much. But I have had some that lasted for 7-10 days!
Tips for use
SERUM:
pump serum into palm and use a finger tip to apply
apply it fairly thick and allow it to absorb
start applying it as soon as you feel the tingle
continue use for at least a day after blisters are gone
BALM:
apply as often as needed
always apply after serum
allow serum to absorb fully first
use a clean finger each time to avoid contamination
start applying it as soon as you feel the tingle
use 1-2 times a week for prevention, especially during change of seasons
