Why did I choose Kokum Butter for my products?

When I began this journey by making body butter I knew I wanted to use ingredients that were different from all the other companies out there.
Most people use coconut oil, shea butter, and/or cocoa butter.
Mango butter was my first choice. Then I researched other butters looking for something that would absorb quickly and have powerful healing properties. I wanted to moisturize on a deep cellular level and have it last all day. That's why I chose kokum butter.
Kokum butter, extracted from the seeds of the Garcinia indica tree, is a rich and nourishing ingredient with numerous benefits for the skin.
Kokum butter is rich in fatty acids, including oleic acid and stearic acid, which deeply moisturize and nourish the skin. It helps to improve skin elasticity and reduce dryness, making it ideal for people with dry, cracked, or sensitive skin. It can help to soothe and calm irritated skin, reducing redness, swelling, and itching. The antioxidants in kokum butter also protect the skin from free radical damage, which can contribute to premature aging. It helps promotes skin cell regeneration, improves skin texture and tone, reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. It forms a protective barrier on the skin, shielding it from environmental stressors such as UV rays and pollution. This helps to prevent skin damage and maintain its natural moisture balance. Kokum butter is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores. This makes it suitable for people with acne-prone skin.
As you can see there are many reasons I decided to use kokum butter. Once I used it in my body butter and I actually tried it I knew it was the perfect ingredient for my products!
