However, Niacinamide is just a form of Vitamin B3. It offers multifaceted skincare benefits, including strengthening the skin's barrier, minimizing pores, reducing redness, fading dark spots, controlling oil, softening fine lines, and improving overall texture by boosting ceramide and collagen production, making it excellent for hydration and calming inflammation for most skin types. It's a powerful antioxidant that protects against environmental damage while promoting a more even, radiant, and resilient complexion.
Key Skincare Benefits
Strengthens the skin barrier: Niacinamide boosts the production of ceramides and fatty acids, essential components of the skin's lipid barrier, which helps retain moisture and protect against environmental stressors and irritants.
Minimizes enlarged pores: By helping to regulate excess sebum (oil) production and improve skin elasticity, niacinamide can reduce the appearance of enlarged and congested pores.
Evens skin tone and fades dark spots: Niacinamide helps reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and post-acne marks by inhibiting the transfer of melanin (pigment) to the skin's surface, leading to a brighter, more even complexion.
Reduces redness and inflammation: Its notable anti-inflammatory properties make it a suitable ingredient for soothing blotchiness and calming conditions like acne, rosacea, and eczema.
Softens fine lines and wrinkles: Niacinamide supports the skin's natural production of collagen and elastin, which helps improve skin texture, firmness, and elasticity, thereby reducing the visible signs of aging.
Regulates oil production: It helps balance the amount of oil the sebaceous glands produce, which is beneficial for those with oily or blemish-prone skin and can help prevent breakouts.
Provides antioxidant protection: Niacinamide acts as an antioxidant, helping to neutralize free radicals and protect skin cells from oxidative damage caused by UV rays and pollution.
Enhances hydration: It helps prevent moisture loss, working well with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid to keep the skin supple and nourished.
As of this writing, the only product with niacinamide is our Youth Revival Eye Cream. When I apply the eye cream, I apply it under my eyes as well as my upper lid, and between my brows. It is helping with my fine lines around my lower eye lids and also reducing upper lid sagging and the deep wrinkles between the brows (elevens).
